a.     Johannesburg Youth Orchestra Company: active in partnership

i.       We are in the process of creating a sustainable studio for the training of musical instrument repair, setup and making. Aimed at becoming a central repair and setup studio for instrument maintenance throughout South Africa. Focusing on schools, teachers, learning individuals, outreach and ultimately professional musicians. Encouraging by example and growing through promoting availability of services whilst making it possible to engage the students with an entrepreneurial perspective from day one. Involving trained and professional instrument makers and technicians from each type of instrument group. (See instrument makers).

ii.     Exploring the addition of business skills into the teaching scope of music and instrument making.

iii.    We are busy with development and program frame working of a music school administration system which is intended to add commercial sustainability and insight into music learning.

iv.    Busy commissioning artists, conceptualising the premier of an annual afroClassical music, science of music and arts exhibition. Promoting local musical participation and social interest.

b.     Johannesburg Festival Orchestra: active in partnership

i.       They have been chosen as the resident orchestra and support for sound fiddlefax finesse.

ii.     Help round up and bring musicians profiles to the stage of fiddlefax.

iii.    Explore synergies in musical life skills training and development environment.

iv.    Partnering in furthered web development and identified needs definitions.

 

c.     Classic fm – instruments explained.

i.       With the launch of a talk show explaining instruments we will be interviewing and learning from different instrument makers and resident advisors to fiddlefax.

ii.     Informing learning and professional musicians about their instruments’ needs, care & repair, things to look out for with detailed reference to be found on the fiddlefax website.

iii.    Introduction to SCi bono for exploring possible synergies and common grounds in training and staging the art and science of sound production.

d.     South African instrument makers – resident service providers to fiddlefax delivery.

i.       String instrument department: Svend’s Violin (co creator of fiddlefax.co.za and concept) Studio of violin and violin bow making and restoration of fine violins for professionals initially started training and assessment of future instrument technician candidates.

ii.     Wood wind department: Micka Clayton has signed on as the resident woodwind specialist to fiddlefax and therefore will be in charge of repairs, training, assessments and stock advising to the training workshop and fiddlefax. (Already involved with repairs and gearing up for training).

iii.    Piano and keyboard department: Paul Herson has already started with training of one piano technician and is deciding on his active role within fiddlefax.

iv.    Other music instrument department resident positions will soon be advertised for on the site.

e.    Music retail, Services, rentals, production and facilitated Sales

i.       Web stock reservations and preferred supply from the Marshall Music Group, thus meaning we need not spend millions on initial and future stock procurement plus offering a vast shelf range.

ii.     Combined Music Instrument Libraries the JYO Co. library initiative, Svend’s violin and other makers’ instruments and private individual facilitated rentals. Entrusted instrument sharing.

iii.    Ian’s electronic genius will add power to all electronic services and repairs-in-training.

iv.    CT Machinery maker & developer and Light Seed creations 3d design are the production partners to current and future fiddlefax instrument accessory augmenting and production.

v.     Andrew’s Instrument removal is exploring the integration of training some fiddlefax instrument making students as carriers and will be used as a preferred instrument mover for fiddlefax. In support of the growing needs of current and future fiddlefax logistics.

vi.    High Rotation is an innovative management company within the Corporate, Media and Entertainment ambit aimed at helping with fiddlefax brand positioning and awareness.

vii.  Musicians & Artists for contributing value content, defining user needs, services and networks.

viii. Other growing web based music retailers and information centre contributions.
