    Wow!! Really nice article, I had absolutely no idea how vast and complex the violin is!

    I was reading about sound acoustics the other day and came across quite a interesting thing.

    They conducted some research into the relationship between RAD (radiation damping) and FRAD (fraction of vibrational energy radiated)here, FRAD reached its maximum value of ~0.5. The critical frequency falls significantly lower for "good" than "bad" violins (3-violin samples for each).

    Quite interesting, if thats your type of thing ;-)
