Background All about Thokozani Zwane
When asked why he would like to join in this initiative his response was: Repairing instruments take a lot of time and commitment and what makes this job good for me is that I have a passion for fixing things and making them look as good as possible when bringing them back to their original state.
Last week one of my customers came back to me because I damaged his car's computer box and I had to replace it; after that I realized just how important it is to have people like mechanics, and repairers because if we didn’t have such people we would be replacing all the time.
Another thing is that mechanics and repairers are like doctors because they bring back life to the things that they fix.
As in life nobody wants to see their belongings ruined so now people will be glad to know that there are instrument repairers out there where they can take their instruments.
Instrument making changed my life.
-----------------------------------------
"Change is good for most people, but never easy...
I was a panelbeater before I started repairing instruments like a violin, cello and double bass. I did this for 3 months after I met Paul who is now teaching me to restore and service piano's. All of this requires an understanding of maths, science, physics and geometry - but most of all dedication, patience and concentration.
I believe one should give your best work and by doing so you will never go wrong. I have my goals and I am a believer. I believe as a human being that the mind is greater than a gun, a sword or a knife - and I believe that you make life what it is. Now this changed the way I think and the way I make decisions. I am now very sharp in my work and I know how to fix and repair the instruments.
The way I make my decisions now and the way I do things comes back to me. The change in an instrument is the best sound you will get from my work."
