Background All about Micka Clayton
Micka learnt basic instrument maintenance and repair from her clarinet teacher from an early age. This sparked a keen interest in the workings of all woodwind instruments. By the time she left school, she was servicing her own instruments, as well as those of friends and fellow students. After joining the military bands, she did a two year apprenticeship with a master instrument builder from the Czech Republic. She is part of an online community of international woodwind repair technicians, where advice and new ideas/techniques are freely exchanged. Micka has exclusive repair relationships with several schools, teachers and professional musicians.
