  1. Description recognize this instrument

The violin was in a maroon nylon carry case with combination lock and silver grey velvet lining. It had a bow in it which was fixed up with sellotape near the 'frog' end to keep the leather from undoing itself. His music scores were also in the case (Fritz Kreisler, Grade 7 Trinity and his Miagi Youth Orchestra Audition piece [Peer Gynt]). Isabella Bonnet gave him some special black rosin for Christmas (Piran... can't remember the make) and the original (cherry or maple wood) tail piece with only one silver tuning knob on E-string (as per pictures) for the violin, was in the case as well. Mr Bernhard Wozny (Fountainebleau) changed the tail piece to a black one so it would be easy for Richard to tune all the strings himself. Mr Dedekind (Pretoria) was the last person to set up the violin in 2006 with new bridge marked 'Dedekind" after the sound post had fallen having been in storage for a long time. I hope that the instrument will be returned to Richard as it was his late grandfather's wish for him to have a good violin having showed his potential at a young age. It was purchased from Johan Grobelaar as a new violin and Richard fell in love with it knowing he would grow into it one day and the sound it projected caught his ear.
